Elbows are one of the most effective close-range self-defence tools. Learning to strike from different angles develops awareness, coordination, timing and practical defensive skills.
In martial arts, we don’t just learn techniques—we learn when, why and how to apply them safely and effectively.
This short drill demonstrates both the mechanics of different elbow strikes and one example of how they may be applied in a practical self-defence situation.
