In Evans Head, Northern NSW, the owners of this native bee hive know that there's no point having accommodation without a restaurant.

louise (the owner) said that she wanted to bulk up her bees' stores before they hibernated for winter.

All bee owners and bee lovers can think about providing floral resources for their bees, and planning them ahead of time.

It's why I haven't pruned my tomatoes back for autumn, because the blue banded bees in my garden adore the flowers. And with recent frosts, there's not many other flowers around.

Plant some frost hardy flowers for your local pollinators this winter, and pop your bulbs in for spring!

There's some major reasons why natural pest control is better than chemical sprays. Spraying your roses for blackspot, spraying your veggie plants for mildew or spraying your tomatoes for fruit fly kills native bees and kills these guys.

As we say- you don't have a pest problem, you have a predator insect problem (not enough of them).

You can buy ladybird larvae online in "bombs" to release in your garden, so it becomes a haven for all the right kind of insects ❤️🐞🐝
