Auslan Sign of the Week

This week, Zola is teaching our clients the Auslan sign for “Toilet.”

Learning practical everyday words like this helps build confidence, independence and communication skills that can be used in a wide range of situations.

Being able to express needs clearly is an important part of everyday life, and our clients continue to do an amazing job embracing each new sign they learn.

We love seeing everyone grow in confidence as they build their Auslan knowledge week by week.

There is always something happening in the kitchen at Lifeskills Plus

With the support and guidance of our staff, our clients are learning important everyday cooking skills, from safely using sharp knives and cutting ingredients to cooking on the stovetop and preparing meals together.

Programs like this help build confidence, independence and practical life skills that can be carried into everyday living.

Plus, there is always a great sense of pride in enjoying something you have helped create from start to finish.

And of course, no cooking session is complete without the washing up afterwards.

While it may not be everyone’s favourite part, learning responsibility and working together as a team is all part of the experience too.
