Last Wednesday Neuro-fit held a free NDIS information evening presented by Danielle Butcher from Grosskopf Consultanting. Danielle was an incredibly valuable source of information when it comes to navigating the NDIS. Here are a few pre-planning meeting tips that Neuro-fit would like to share with you. NDIS PRE-Planning Meeting Tips

1. Have your goals established before attending your planning meeting. (Goals are where the participant would like to be in the short term and long term - aim for approximately 3 goals, two short term (6-12months), and 1 long term (5years).

2. Make your goals realistic within the time frame for the life of your plan (usually 6, 9, or 12 months)

3. Practitioner reports (e.g. OT, Speech Therapist, school, GP etc.) that are relevant to your goals will assist you in demonstrating your need for funding.

4. If at this point in time your child is not capable of a 1-2hour meeting, and/or will not respond well being talked about in front of a stranger, please take a photo of your child in to show the coordinator instead.

Go Henry! Henry has learnt some skills outside of Neuro-fit and likes to show us his skills! We love seeing what our Neuro-fit kids are capable of and use their interests to help motivate them during their sessions. Watch out Cirque du Soleil here he comes! What a Superstar!

What a Superstar! Check out Archie walking on our whopping 1.5m high tyres! You really need to overcome your fight/flight/freeze response and demonstrate great balance and motor planning in order to conquer these guys. What a great effort! Well done Archie, we think you are a Superstar!
