Last 365 days of my 30s starts today.

Extremely grateful for where I am at in life right now.

A beautiful family, a growing business, great clients, plenty of chaos, plenty of coffee… and somehow still trying to figure out how to balance being Adviser Dad to the Adviser Kids, a square pig pet owner, a doting husband to an extreme athlete, and actual adult all at the same time. 😂

One thing I’ve learnt getting older is that success isn’t really about flashy stuff. It’s about freedom, time with your family, good health, meaningful work and building something that actually matters.

Also, apparently compound interest works on birthdays, because they seem to come around faster every year.

Thanks to everyone who has supported Avanti Wealth so far.

This picture pretty much sums up how most people start investing. You’re standing there trying to decide

“Do I go with the bank?”
“Maybe the mining company?”
“What if I pick the wrong one?”

I’ve been there, and early on, I thought that was the whole point. I would look endlessly trying to find the best company and back it in. Sometimes it works, but sometimes it doesn’t.

What changed for me was realising I didn’t actually need to be right every time, I just needed to stop being wrong in a big way.

That’s where the basket comes in.

Instead of picking one or two eggs, you own a bit of everything — energy, healthcare, tech, financials… the whole ASX200.

Some eggs crack, but most will turn into something great, and you’re never relying on just one.

Funny thing is… while I’m still standing there overthinking it, Peggy’s already figured it out! She’s not trying to be clever, she’s just being consistent.

And in investing, that usually wins.

Over the weekend we celebrated another big milestone in the Avanti household. My beautiful Emma turned 8 years old ❤️

You make me proud every single day, not just for how smart and capable you are, but for the kind, funny, and caring person you’re becoming. Watching you grow is one of the greatest joys of my life.

Keep being curious, keep being brave, and never stop being you.

Last night I celebrated 10 years of being married to Boss Lady ❤️

Three kids, a business, and a whole lot of chaos in between, and somehow she still puts up with me 😅

She’s been there through every stage. Before Avanti, during the leap, and everything we’re building now and I wouldn’t be here without her.
