On 21 April, Kardan welcomed Federal Minister Andrew Giles and Federal Member for Swan Zaneta Mascarenhas to site, following their interest in the Aboriginal upskilling partnership between Kardan and Wilco Electrical (WA) Pty Ltd.
They met with apprentices, trainees and trade assistants, hearing directly about their pathways, ambitions, and day-to-day experiences on site. The message throughout was clear: real opportunities are creating real careers.
The “20 by 2020” initiative was established by Wilco Electrical with a goal to support 20 Aboriginal apprentices into the electrical industry. Kardan has contributed to this vision through employment and training pathways in construction.
Through our ongoing partnership with Wilco Electrical, we continue to:
• Support structured, long-term career pathways
• Build culturally safe and inclusive workplaces
• Strengthen participation across the construction workforce
• Invest in the next generation of skilled professionals
Thank you to Minister Giles and Ms Mascarenhas for taking the time to engage with our team.
At Kardan, we’re proud to be building more than projects; we’re building people, careers, and a stronger industry.
