Midlas is proud to share that we've partnered with Anglicare WA and Thread Together to provide new clothing to our clients in need.

Thread Together works with fashion retailers to provide new clothing to people in need which is tailored to their circumstances as well as their personal style and taste.

We were very excited to receive our first order from THE ICONIC last Wednesday!

We love this program as it means that we can support clients with the things they need to show up feeling confident for interviews, appointments, and other important occasions.

The City of Belmont, WA’s NAIDOC Week Community Markets were the perfect place to pick up something truly one-of-a-kind—original artwork from Ethyn Extra-Ordinary Art. Ethyn is an award-winning, non-verbal Indigenous artist who uses painting as his way of expressing himself.

We purchased these acrylic pour art pieces which looking amazing in our Midland office!

Buying a piece from Ethyn isn’t just about taking home beautiful art—it’s about backing a young entrepreneur and celebrating the extraordinary talent that exists in our community.

A national test of AusAlert will take place in ONE WEEK on Monday 27 July 2026.

During the test, all compatible mobile devices in Australia will receive a Critical Alert at the same time. The alert may remain active for up to one hour.

If you are concerned about receiving the Critical Alert, please prepare in advance by following these steps:

⏰ 12:00 noon (AWST)

✅One hour before the test: Turn off your mobile device or switch it to aeroplane mode.
✅During and after the test: Keep your device turned off or in aeroplane mode for 24 hours.

Please note: 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐢𝐯𝐞 the AusAlert national test if your device is on silent or 'Do Not Disturb'.

Need help with your driver's licence, fines, identification or birth certificates? The Aboriginal Justice Open Days are coming to Ellenbrook and provide a convenient one-stop shop to connect with a range of essential services.

🗓 When: 21 & 22 July 2026
🕘 Time: 9:00am - 4:00pm
📍 Where: Ellenbrook Community Resource Centre, 90 Main Street, Ellenbrook

On the day, you can access support from:
✅ Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure
✅ Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages
✅ Fines Enforcement Registry
✅ Services Australia (Centrelink)
✅ Community Services, including Aboriginal Family Legal Services (AFLS) and Workskil

To help make the most of your visit, please bring as many identification documents as possible, such as your birth certificate, Medicare card, Centrelink card, bank card, or proof of address. Please note that some services may incur fees.

Everyone is welcome to attend. Arrive early, as some services may close earlier if demand is high.

This is devastating news 💔 We have to do better for our mothers, sisters, daughters and friends.

Families and communities across the country are reeling yet again after the devastating deaths of two women and two girls in just four days. Four lives taken. All allegedly killed by men and boys known to them.

These women and girls were loved and cherished. They had dreams and plans. They were daughters, sisters, mothers, friends. They had the right to be safe, to thrive and to be free from violence in all its forms.

Instead, their families must now carry the unbearable weight of loss. We send our heartfelt condolences to their families, friends and communities. You, and all those affected by family and domestic violence, are in our hearts and thoughts.

Violence against women and girls is a national emergency. Efforts to address it must match the scale and urgency of this devastation. We cannot and will not accept the endless harm of women and girls as a reality we are powerless to intervene in and to prevent.

Our CEO, Angie, recently attended the City of Gosnells' NAIDOC Week Art Exhibition, a collaboration with Langford Aboriginal Association Inc. The exhibition showcases the talent of established and emerging Indigenous artists, with artworks available to purchase.

We purchased the vibrant 'Wagyls Path' by Rebekah Delaney for our office at the Sister Project in Ellenbrook.

The exhibition is open this Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm.

Having trouble claiming the $100 Fuel Support Payment on the ServiceWA app? Check out this step-by-step guide.

If you're filling out the paper form, don't forget to enclose photocopies of: (1) both sides of your driver's licence; and (2) a bank statement. Note that paper forms can take up to 8 weeks to process.

One of the benefits of setting up the ServiceWA app and your Digital ID now is that you'll be ready to claim the WA Student Assistance Payment when claims open at 9 am on 20 July.

Stay safe everyone ❤️ Turn off your hidden safe phone, give it to a trusted person, or turn on airplane mode to ensure it doesn’t sound when AusAlert is tested on 27 July.

For women and children experiencing domestic violence – if you have a hidden safe phone, we recommend turning it OFF, giving it to a safe person, or switching it to airplane mode on July 27th at 12pm.

A new Australian national warning system (called the AusAlert test) will send a safety alarm to all phones at this time, even if the volume is turned down, or it’s on silent / do not disturb.
