Candied Orange Slices Recipe:

2-3 medium oranges, washed
2 cups of water
2.5 cups of sugar

Bring water and sugar to a boil in a large pot, to make your sugar syrup.
Thinly slice your oranges to about half a centimetre in thickness.
Add your orange slices to your boiling sugar syrup.
Lightly mix, to ensure each orange slice is coated in the sugar syrup.
Bring back to a boil, then reduce the temperature to a simmer and cover the pot.
Allow to cook for 40-60 minutes until the middle of each slice is translucent.
Carefully remove each slice onto a cooling rack with a lined tray below it.
Leave to cool and harden at room temperature, this may take a few days depending on the weather.
Transfer to an airtight container when they harden and store at room temperature for up to three weeks.

Use the left over syrup for drinks and desserts, as an orange infused simple syrup
