A really positive story from our SEE Program this week. 🤎

Neilo joined VTS around six months ago. He often kept to himself in class, but he showed up, worked hard and always gave thoughtful contributions when he spoke.

He shared with his trainer that his dream job was working on a cattle station. After some difficult years and personal challenges, he said coming to VTS had helped him stay focused and keep moving forward.

A few weeks ago, he heard his old station was hiring again. Together with his trainer, he updated his resume, tracked down previous qualifications and prepared his application.

This week, he got the news that he had been successful.

He came into class yesterday for what we thought would be his last day before heading off next week — but while he was there, he received a phone call asking him to start immediately.

So off he went, straight back into the outback and back into the job he loves.

We’re incredibly proud of him and grateful to be part of stories like this.

The Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program is funded by the Australian Government Department of Employment and Workplace Relations.
