Rhys Lopez - pictured in slide 3 with CCWA's Victoria Pavy - is the former head brewer at Otherside Brewery and the founder of Evil Mega Corp.

His new blood orange hazy IPA DIRTY GAS GUZZLER shines a light on how big gas corporations rip off communities and destroy pristine environments.

Rhys says:

"The Australian beer industry is losing fantastic breweries and people are losing jobs because of bankruptcies caused in part by the inability to meet tax obligations. Meanwhile, countries like Japan make money from our resources because we give it away for free. 

“The beer excise is paid for by the small percentage of Australians who are beer drinkers, and they’re paying more than these giant gas companies are paying in PRRT for all the gas they’re exporting to the rest of the world. That’s insane.”

Rhys will be launching the DIRTY GAS GUZZLER at our event in Maylands this Wednesday 10 June — The Pub Test on Big Gas.

DIRTY GAS GUZZLER will be on tap, and part proceeds from every glass sold will go to CCWA.

The event will also include a pub quiz, panel discussion and music.
