Wow! This is the first time of it kind with such big banner. Stop driving, start walking. Fuel has become like a missed salt in the curry.

The graphic highlights a sharp rise in Australian visa refusal rates across South Asian countries, with Nepal facing the highest reported rate at 65%, followed by Bangladesh at 51%, India at 40%, Sri Lanka at 38%, and Bhutan at 36%. The trend reflects increasingly strict immigration scrutiny by Australia, raising concerns about fairness, accessibility, and the growing challenges genuine applicants face in pursuing education, work, and travel opportunities abroad.
I am withdrawing my application! Letβs be in Bhutan with no refusal.

Today, this image took my attention and I felt sorry for the elderly people, hanging with the forceful youngsters to get into the bus.
In every society, civic sense reflects the character of its people. It is seen in the way we respect public spaces, follow rules, treat one another, and behave in shared environments. Bhutan, a nation admired across the world for its philosophy of Gross National Happiness and cultural values, has always taken pride in harmony, discipline, and community spirit.
However, scenes like the one, remind us that there is still much work to be done when it comes to public behavior and civic responsibility.
The image captures a crowded bus stop where passengers appear to be rushing and pushing to board a bus at the same time. While this may seem like an ordinary daily situation, it reflects a larger issue, the growing lack of patience, order, and consideration in public spaces. When people crowd entrances, ignore queues, and compete to get ahead of others, it creates inconvenience, stress, and even danger, especially for children, elderly citizens, and women as we can see in the image.
Civic sense is not only about obeying laws; it is about respecting society. Simple habits such as standing in line, waiting for others to exit before entering, giving priority to vulnerable passengers, and maintaining calm in public transport are signs of a mature and responsible community. These actions may appear small, but together they shape the image and culture of a nation.
Bhutan is changing rapidly. Urbanization, increasing population, and busy lifestyles are putting pressure on public infrastructure and daily interactions. As our towns grow and public transport becomes more crowded, the need for discipline and awareness becomes even more important. Development is not measured only by buildings and roads, but also by the behavior of citizens who use them.

Change must begin with individuals. Schools should continue teaching civic responsibility from an early age. Families must encourage respect, patience, and public discipline at home. Authorities can also help by improving awareness campaigns, creating organized boarding systems, and ensuring that public transport areas are managed properly. Most importantly, every citizen must understand that public spaces belong to everyone, and our actions affect the community as a whole.
A nation known for compassion and mindfulness should also lead by example in civic behavior. By practicing simple acts of discipline and respect, Bhutan can preserve not only its cultural identity but also create a safer, kinder, and more organized society for future generations.
True progress begins when people learn to think not only about themselves, but also about others around them. Civic sense is not someone elseβs responsibility β it belongs to all of us.
