Meet the Team, Melinda Gale

Some people join your business and become employees. Others become part of the story. Melinda is definitely the latter.

Long before Sense Recruitment existed, Anita and Melinda worked together at another recruitment agency. When Anita started Sense, there was one person she knew she wanted alongside her, and thankfully Melinda said yes.

If you've ever been a candidate with Sense, there's a good chance you've spoken with Melinda. For many people, she's the first voice they hear. The reassuring conversation before an interview. The check-in call afterwards. The person who takes the time to understand what's happening in their world, not just what's written on their CV.

Recruitment is often described as connecting people with jobs. But Melinda has always seen it differently. Every day she helps people navigate career changes, redundancy, uncertainty, promotions and fresh starts. Sometimes people call looking for a job. Sometimes they simply need someone to listen.

Over the years we've received countless emails from candidates who wanted to say thank you. They remember the phone calls, the encouragement, the honesty and the way Melinda took the time to help them through what can often be a stressful process.

In an industry that often talks about candidate care, Melinda quietly delivers it every single day.

Outside of work, she's a country girl at heart. If there's a rodeo, bush race or country event happening somewhere in Western Australia, there's every chance Melinda will be there. In the office she's either incredibly quiet or incredibly loud, there is absolutely no middle ground. And everyone knows she doesn't function particularly well before her first coffee.

What has never changed is her genuine love of people and her willingness to help.

Candidates may not always remember every role they've applied for, but they remember the people who helped them along the way.

We're incredibly lucky to have Melinda as part of the Sense team.

Today we’re celebrating 16 years of Samantha Jones, our Queen of Finance.

Sam makes sure everyone gets paid, the ATO stays happy… and fills the office with fear over printing in colour.

For 16 years, Sam has been the calm, steady force behind the scenes, keeping our numbers tight, our contractors looked after, and keeps the tea and coffee flowing for all of us in the office.

Sam is loved by the team and known for her patience, she has had practise whilst she waits for her beloved dockers to get themselves a premiership. This sets her in good stead as she sits next to Carla in the office.

Sam, we absolutely adore you. Thank you for everything you do, and for keeping us all in line.

We meet a lot of grads, and the kids of our clients and candidates, who are just trying to get started in their careers.

It’s where confidence is built, curiosity grows, and opportunities begin.
