Have you ever said the words âI donât have time to network!â
Hereâs the thing - networking IS working. When it comes to our careers, leadership and the opportunities we get, it often comes down to who we know, what they know about us, and what we do after weâve met them đ
At this Long Lunch Club, , Career and Leadership Coach, Speaker and Author of new book, Less Hustle, More Happy, will talk about ârelationship currencyâ and the power that relationships have to propel and elevate. She will share practical tips on how to be authentic, the LLC way đЎ
You spend hours sharpening your skills, delivering results, and showcasing your performance, but relationships are the other 50% of your career currency. Itâs time to balance the scales, and take charge of this critical part of your success đââď¸â¨

Our MC this Long Lunch Club is Lynzie Kent, a regular Long Luncher and talented muscian đ
Lynzie Kent is a multi-passionate, recovering entrepreneur whose work spans across art, design, music and events. She is the founder of two 7 figure businesses; Mad Bash Group (under which she has designed and planned hundreds of weddings and events) and The Pop-Up Chapel Co (a shared wedding concept marrying 10 couples in one day). Her background of experience is eclectic. From traveling North America singing lead in a touring funk band to hosting two TV shows (Post My Party and Crazy Beautiful Weddings) to dropping out of University (twice)- which makes her an honest, gritty and hard working business owner. In 2023, Lynzie moved from Toronto to Perth in an effort to work and worry less, and to create and sun bake more. Outside of work, she is an avid thrifter, reader, and mother of two beautiful ginger-haired boys.
We canât wait for Lynzie to bring her vibrant energy to lunch this November đĽâ¤ď¸

Excited to introduce our final panelist speaker, Verity Simmons! From dominating the netball court with West Coast Fever to representing Aus with the Australian Diamonds, sheâs now taking on a new challenge in AFLW with West Coast Eagles!Â
Â
A type one diabetic, Verity is also a passionate advocate for health and fitness. Outside of sports, sheâs making a difference as a personal trainer/coach and working with Indigenous youth in and out of detention centers.Â
Â
Having played professionally across two sports, we look forward to hearing Verityâs unique perspective on AFLâs investment in the AFLW and the player experience in the AFLW compared to netball. We canât wait!

Next up on our panel is Paul Marsh, CEO of the AFL Playersâ Association who has been a key advocate for the rights and wellbeing of AFL and AFLW players.Â
Â
Under Paulâs leadership, the AFL PA have been instrumental in achieving significant improvements of pay and conditions for AFLW players, including a historic 94% pay increase in 2022 and the first joint Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) for both AFL and AFLW in 2023, with the players now collectively sharing in 31.7% of the gameâs gross revenues.Â
Â
Paul has had a long and accomplished career in Australian sports, also serving as the CEO of the Australian Cricketersâ Association for nine years, during which time the association started representing female cricketers and secured the first workplace deal for these players too.
Â
Weâre thrilled to have Paul join us for IWD and look forward to hearing about how he and the AFL PA continue to support the AFLW players in their vision to reach professionalism by 2026.
