Ladies, I understand the struggles of losing weight with PCOS, and it's okay to feel frustrated and confused. I've been there too, thinking I was doing everything right, only to keep storing weight. I want you to know that you're not alone. To truly succeed, we must learn about hormones, toxins, cortisol, the liver's role, and the impact of glucose and insulin.
💡 Here are my top 5 tips that transformed my weight loss journey, and I hope they help you too:
1️⃣ Master the Food Order: Eating in the right order can be a game-changer! Focus on eating fibre, first protein, then carbs to control those glucose spikes and avoid fat storage.

2️⃣ Embrace Low GI Foods: Nourish your body with low GI foods, coupled with high protein and fibre. It can make a real difference in managing your blood sugar levels.

3️⃣ Your Type Matters: We are all unique. Don't be afraid to explore blood type diets and find what works best for you. You deserve a personalized approach. 🌟

4️⃣ Detox for Balance: Our environment bombards us with toxins. Consider detoxifying your body, helping it bid farewell to extra estrogen and cortisol. I found lemon water, epsom salt baths, and drinking activated charcoal beneficial to rid all of this.

5️⃣ Tame Cortisol: Stress can wreak havoc on our bodies and we do live in stressful times and lead lives that can be full of stress. We need to lower our cortisol levels daily to remind us we are safe. Focus on deep breathing (5 deep breathes in, hold for 5, then let out for 5), grounding practices, and meditation to help reduce cortisol's impact on weight gain. 🧘‍♀️

I am rooting for your success. It's not an easy journey, but you've got this. Let me know in the comments if you have been practicing any of this or new things you may have learned? Mel x

Can I still get pregnant after being diagnosed with PCOS?

Now, this may seem a silly question but back in 2013 ago I was told having kids was highly unlikely, this then became an important question for me.

I understand that it may be scary for most women to get diagnosed of having PCOS especially not knowing if you can have children in the future. However there seems to be a lot of myths and misconceptions when it comes to PCOS.

I have had many clients also telling me that their doctor has told them they will never have children because of their PCOS. And this is untrue. The fact is, a diagnosis of PCOS does NOT mean that you will never have children.

PCOS does greatly affect fertility due to irregular menstrual cycles. Us women with PCOS normally don't ovulate regularly, thus conceiving and getting pregnant can be twice difficult than for others without it.

However I found a study that was done in 2009 which covered 91 women with PCOS. These women were monitored for 8 years and when the final phase has concluded, all of the subjects were over 35.

Out of 91 women studied with PCOS, 86.7% had at least 1 child and 73.6% conceived without fertility intervention! Furthermore, they had a higher ovarian reserve. This means that these ladies in this study, were able to get pregnant at an older age as compared with others without PCOS.

So why am I sharing this?

Because I want to bring you hope! The struggle may be more challenging than someone without PCOS but it is possible - you can fall pregnant! Please never give up hope, or stop trying, or listen to you doctor and believe them. Women have fallen pregnant naturally with PCOS, with implementing positive lifestyle changes and if you are truly wanting to change it all around.. you can do it too.
