Did you know the earlier babies get comfortable in water, the more confident they become? Here are 5 science-backed reasons to start swim lessons in the first year of life, swipe to learn more ๐
Our warm, gentle pool is designed specifically for tiny bodies and developing minds. Come feel the difference.
Baby swimming is often sold as a fun activity, and it absolutely is.
But the developmental benefits go so much deeper than most families realise when they first sign up.
Swimming builds full-body strength, flexibility, stamina, and kinaesthetic coordination in ways that are difficult to replicate on land. The water provides resistance without impact, meaning babies are working hard without the risk of injury.
Beyond the physical, regular swim classes strengthen cardiovascular function, supporting healthy heart and lung development from those very early months. And then there's the connection to early language development, the rhythm of movement, the responsive communication between parent and baby in the water, the call-and-response of guided play, it all supports the foundations of speech and communication.
And sleep. We mention it often because we hear it so often: babies who swim regularly at Aquanat tend to sleep better. The combination of warm water, physical exertion, and emotional regulation creates the perfect conditions for settled, restorative sleep.
All of this, starting from 10 weeks old, in Perth's warmest and most purpose-built baby swim environment. ๐

Did you know?
Here's something that blows most new parents' minds when they first hear it. ๐คฏ
Babies are born with something called the diving reflex, a completely natural, involuntary response that causes them to hold their breath and open their eyes when submerged in water. It's a reflex they're born with, left over from nine months of living in fluid.
This reflex is strongest in the early months of life, and like many reflexes, it gradually fades if it isn't supported. Which is one of the key reasons early swimming matters so much and why at Aquanat, we welcome babies from as young as 10 weeks old.
By introducing your baby to water early, in a warm and supportive environment, you're building on something their body already knows how to do. We don't force or rush submersion, ever. We work at each baby's pace, with careful observation and guidance, until the moment feels completely natural for both baby and parent.
When that first underwater moment happens? It's one of the most remarkable things you'll ever witness. ๐
