Mount Private Hospital

We are proud to share that Mount Private Hospital has once again been recognised on the global stage, participating in the China Valve Conference 2026 held in Hangzhou.

As part of this prestigious event, our cardiac team was invited to perform a live-streamed procedure earlier this month to an audience of up to 10,000 clinicians attending both in person and online.

The procedure was performed by Dr Wen-Loong Yeow and Dr Gerald Yong. They were supported by Dr Tashi Zhaxiduojie as the TOE cardiologist and Dr Mark Schneider as the cardiac anaesthetist. Together, the team successfully performed a Mitral Transcatheter Edge-to-Edge Repair (M-TEER), a minimally invasive technique used to treat mitral regurgitation, a condition where the heart’s mitral valve does not close properly.

This advanced procedure involves guiding a small clip through a catheter inserted via a vein in the leg to attach to the valve, improving blood flow and helping to relieve symptoms such as breathlessness and fatigue - all without the need for open-heart surgery.

The success of this live case highlights the strength of Mount Private Hospital’s cardiac program and its ongoing commitment to delivering innovative, world-class care.

🎉 Last week the cardiology team at Mount Private Hospital celebrated an important milestone their 1000th Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) procedure.

❤️ A TAVI (or TAVR) is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that repairs the damaged aortic valve without removing the native valve.

🏥The team at Mount Private completed their first TAVI in 2017 and are excited to reach this important milestone for the hospital and their world class cardiology team.
