🔒 New AML/CTF requirements are now in effect. Here’s what it means for our clients.

From 1 July 2026, new Australian Government Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF) laws apply to many real estate transactions.

So, if you’re buying or selling property through Paddington Realty, you may notice that we’re asking a few more questions or requesting some additional information and identification than we have previously.

Why?

Quite simply, we’re required by law to do so.

These new requirements are designed to help protect Australia’s property market from money laundering, fraud and other financial crime. As licensed real estate professionals, we now have additional obligations to verify our clients and better understand the transactions we’re involved in.

While it may mean a little more paperwork, please be assured that:

🟠 We’ll only ask for information we’re legally required to collect.

🟠 We’ll guide you through the process and make it as straightforward as possible.
