Our All Abilities Youth Group in Mandurah is always up to something interesting. Recently, they had The Billy Dower Bakeoff, inviting members into the kitchen to practice their culinary skills. 👨‍🍳 🍪

With Interchange WA Support Workers on hand, they baked cupcakes and pizza scrolls.

As July begins, so does Disability Pride Month.

The theme of Disability Pride Month for 2026 is “The World Works Better with Us”. It’s a reminder that when People with Disability are included, respected, and supported, their communities improve for everyone.

The advancements created for People with Disability have had knock-on effects that have improved lives beyond their original scope. Ramps in public buildings, priority seating in buses, closed caption, and voice-to-text are all examples of technologies and institutional changes originally intended to support People with Disability that have gone on to help everyone.

The more inclusive the world becomes, the better it works for everyone. Just another example of Interchange WA’s motto: Everyone Belongs.

Knowing how to safely put someone into recovery position is a critical skill to have when faced with an emergency. It ensures that an unconscious person can keep breathing while protecting their spine.

That’s why we teach it to our Support Workers, so they can protect our customers when in the event of a medical emergency. Here are two of them in training, helping each other get hands-on experience with this life-saving skill.
