This one genuinely caught us off guard in the best way.

We went in expecting a heavy, intense retelling of Michael’s life, but instead got something far more heartfelt and human. The lighter approach really worked, it made Michael feel real. Not just a global icon, but someone shaped by the people around him and the experiences he went through.

One of the things that really resonated with us was the struggle with his father and that constant push and pull between expectation and identity. You could feel how much he wanted to branch out on his own, to create with his own ideas and build something that reflected his own vision. That journey of trying to step out of someone else’s shadow and define yourself felt incredibly powerful.

The cast absolutely delivered. Every relationship had depth, and you could really feel how important those connections were in his life. It wasn’t just about fame it was about influence, love, pressure, and the emotional weight those relationships carried. Seeing Miles Teller’s portrayal of John Branca was a standout too, he brought a strong, grounded presence to the story. Jafaar Jackson’s performance as Michael was nothing short of spectacular he captured the essence, the energy, and the vulnerability in a way that felt incredibly authentic.

For Tania, hearing “Ben” again hit deep. That song has always stayed with her. Growing up, feeling alone at times, “Ben” was one of those songs that just understood that feeling, it’s quiet, but it says so much.

For Stanley, it was “I’ll Be There.” That song has always meant loyalty, love, and showing up no matter what. Hearing it woven into Michael’s story gave it even more emotional weight.

The music overall just elevates everything. It’s nostalgic, emotional, and ties the whole story together beautifully.

What we both really appreciated was how the film balanced those deeper, heavier moments with warmth. It doesn’t ignore the struggles, but it doesn’t sit in darkness either and that balance made it such an engaging and genuinely moving watch.

Wow. Just WOW.
The Housemaid had us completely hooked from the very first scene right through to the final moments and that ending… OMG 😱 Did not see that coming.

Even though the cinema at Hoyts Warwick was ridiculously hot and stuffy, the movie was so gripping it honestly didn’t matter. We were locked in, edge-of-your-seat the entire time.

Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried were absolutely phenomenal. Their performances were intense, layered, and perfectly played off each other, you could feel the tension building with every scene.

If you love psychological thrillers with twists that make your jaw drop, this one is a must-watch. Still thinking about that ending 🔥🎥

**⚠️ Spoilers Ahead for *Predators: Bad Lands***

A tale as old as time — an adolescent striving for his father’s approval and a place to belong.

Predators: Bad Lands opens with an intense sparring match between Dek and his brother Kwei — a brutal yet bonding moment that perfectly sets up their fractured dynamic. We soon learn that Dek once saved his brother as a child, but instead of earning respect, he’s condemned by their father, the clan’s fearsome leader, as the runt and the weakness that must be eliminated to preserve the clan’s strength.

In a gut-wrenching twist, Dek’s brother sacrifices himself to their father, giving Dek the chance to escape and prove his worth. From here, the story evolves into a mix of vengeance, survival, and redemption, pitting personal loyalty against the unforgiving traditions of the Predator race.

Along his journey, Dek crosses paths with Thea (Elle Fanning) witty, courageous, and surprisingly endearing. Their connection brings levity and humanity to the story. He also befriends Bud, a baby Kalisk who latches onto him like a loyal pet. The little creature’s antics are pure Baby Grogu energy cute, mischievous, and unexpectedly vital to Dek’s emotional growth.

Then comes the jaw-dropping set piece: a full-blown Avatar-style synth vs. Predator showdown. Towering mechs, and roaring beast chaos fill the screen in a wild, high-octane clash that’s as ridiculous as it is thrilling.

Despite all the carnage, Bad Lands retains its heart. It’s an oddly tender, PG-13 take on the *Predator* mythos — more about family, identity, and belonging than pure survival horror. The **CGI can be rough and blurry in spots**, but the emotional core carries through, especially in the final act where Dek returns to **rescue his adopted clan**. That sequence hints at a deeper, more grounded story the film never fully explores — one I wish they’d leaned into more.

Would I rewatch? **Sure.** It’s flawed but heartfelt, and surprisingly fun.
