Energy saving in the kitchen could provide some quick wins on potentially reducing your electricity costs. From exploring energy efficient appliances to defrosting your freezer regularly to help it operate more efficiently, there are many ways you could save energy in the kitchen. Some quick wins could be:
💡Avoid using your microwave as a clock (standby power can add up over time)
💡If you have a second fridge, switch it off when you aren’t consistently using it

The Synergy Midday Saver is a time of use plan designed to help customers take control of their energy costs.

There’s nothing quite like a hot shower – especially as we move into the cooler months of the year, but if you have a storage hot water system you might not have considered how heating the water could be adding to your energy bills. Here are some quick tips that could help reduce your energy and water use:
💧 The recommended setting for a thermostat is 60°C for storage hot water systems and no more than 50°C on instantaneous systems
💧Try for shorter showers (every minute your shower runs is another minute of water use and water heating costs.)
💧If you’re away from home for more than a week, turn off your storage hot water system
