Thanks to everyone for all the birthday wishes for last week! I had a great day celebrating an amazing first 40 years of my life.
It was also nice to feel forward to the start of what I know is going to be the most powerful, joyful, creative, loving and abundant decade of my life.
The last 40 years have been a true blessing. that I am so grateful for. There have been so many magical moments, and so many great adventures in my life.
Some of the things I am most grateful for in my life...
- I have been fortunate enough to be able to follow my heart and make a living from my passions.
- I am grateful to have the freedom to be the provider for my family and work from anywhere in the world.
- I have been blessed to travel to 42 counties
- I have been blessed to live in Bali
- I have been blessed to live in Maui
- I have an amazing family who love me dearly
- I have the blessing of becoming a father to 2 beautiful boys
- I have been blessed to be a husband to my amazing wife Joy Hope Jackson
- I have been blessed to study engineering at university
- I have been blessed to deeply study the fields of coaching, leadership, and business
- I have been blessed to visit Burning Man 4 times
- I have been blessed to be trained, mentored and coached by some of the most incredible beings on the planet
- I am so grateful for everyone in my family, especially my siblings and my amazing Mum and Dad.
- I am grateful to have amazing health
- I am grateful to have deeply connected friendships and have met so many wonderful people
For all those who have been part of my life so far, thank you for the blessing that you are!
My guess is that I am about 1/3rd of the way through my life and I'm getting better every day! I'm committed to the next 40 years are even more extraordinary!
Every day of my life I get wiser and better. So I am excited for the years ahead and looking forward to sharing it with such wonderful people.

One of the most sobering and also liberating realisations a business owner can have is that we personally are the bottleneck in our business.
I was interviewing one of my Clients who doubled their business profit from our work together and I asked them what was the biggest realisation that helped them increase their income?
Here was his answer....
"I thought that the business needed coaching, but it was actually me that needed coaching"
His answer is typical of what every coaching client discovers retrospectively after we begin our work. The great thing about coaching is it so multifaceted and multidimensional in how it creates results....
In an average day here are the problems I help my clients overcome...
- They are stuck (bogged down) IN operations and don't know how to remove themselves to free themselves up to work strategically ON the business to scale it.
- Growth and profit has stagnated because the owner can't scale the business in a way that doesn't rely on them.
- They realise they are the bottleneck, but they are overwhelmed and don't know where to start making changes.
- Can't get the best out of the team - Their biggest problem is people underperforming and not doing their roles fully
- They want do create a better culture, standards and communication but don't know how to create this or where to start.
- Don't know what to say or how to communicate effectively to get their team to follow them
- They want to scale their business but they can't do it without the right people
- They don't have a HR manager, in house coach or skills trainer to help their team reach their highest potential so they are left trying to be the in house coach themselves without the proper training or skills to be a leader or coach who is able to make the difference they want.
- They are already overloaded and busy running the business and they feel they don't have the skills or time to coach team members individually.
- They also don't know how to coach their team, so they are left frustrated by team members who have challenges they can't resolve easily.
- They could do a training course on coaching but that will take longer than hiring a coach to personalise their learning.
- They haven't got the right staff in place and they don't know how to create trusted lasting relationships with their team so that they stay and grow long-term.
here is what happens when we start working together...
- Have financial clarity on the state of business profit and cash flow (Profit and Loss Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Forecast)
- Make strategic hires to do what they don't want to do to free themselves up
- Remove themselves from operations and shift gears to focus purely on overseeing strategy, leadership and team development
- Get to work on embodying and demonstrating the values and qualities they expect the team to have
- Acquire coaching and communication skills to be able to give effective feedback, have difficult conversations to help their team move through their challenges in a way that makes their team feel respected and appreciated.
- Train, coach and mentor the team with 1-on-1 conversations and group workshops and meetings
- Implement systems to track and monitor key metrics in the business and measure the performance of the team at the group and individual level
- Encourage and champion people to have the courage to have vulnerable conversations which develop trust. The business owner needs to be willing to set the bar extremely high around vulnerability and giving honest feedback.
- Be willing to have healthy conflict to explore solutions
- Have clear business goals that are tangible and measurable
- Have healthy conflict and robust discussions about action needed for the team to succeed
- Teaching team about integrity and understanding agreements that leads to powerful commitments and being their word
- Have a regular system for having meetings to ensure everyone is accountable for following through on their promises
- Foster a sense of team spirit by aligning the goals of an individual to the goals of the team making everyone feel like they are on the same team not competing against each other.
Ultimately we work strategically ON the business by getting the owner out of day-to-day minutia that drains their time and energy.
We deal with the emotional instability and stress that happens because of the unhealed and burdened inner parts of the psyche using integrative Psychotherapeutic modalities such as IFS and timeline therapy to do bottom-up (somatic) and top-down approaches for clearing trauma.
We emotionally release trauma to liberate someone from the imprints and emotional patterns of the past.
We activate new states of being that produce inspiring and forward-moving action.
We develop a clear strategy to create a team and systems to produce a consistent financial performance that is not reliant on the owner's time and effort.
We identify the key operational bottlenecks that stifle growth.
We remove fears and resistance from their day-to-day experience via deep insights into the nature of their own consciousness.
We get clear on the top priorities a business owner needs to focus on to grow.
We design the ideal organisation chart and processes needed for a business to thrive.
We redesign the leadership and management structures to help a team get the support they need to thrive.
We sequentially work through the layers of dysfunction of their own leadership to understand why the Culture is not where it needs to be.
The business is then redesigned and reconfigured at the mindset level as well as structurally to perform at sustained levels valuing the people in the organisation as the key to all its success.
I don't work with a business unless I can see an extremely high probability of success. Which is why before I work with anyone I do an appraisal of their business to determine the business case before proceeding with any coaching.
I don't do traditional sales calls... I just add massive value to potential clients and show people what is possible for them at no charge. It is up to them to decide if they want to work with me or not. If the ROI is not at least 5 times the investment I won't recommend we work together.
