Build simple tools for stronger financial wellbeing πŸ’°

Parents and carers raising children aged 0-18 years with disability are invited to join Kiind online for our first Virtual MyTime session for Term 3!

Our first session this term will be facilitated by the Kiind team and feature guest speakers Deborah, a Financial Counsellor and Josh, an Energy Coach, from Communicare’s Financial Wellbeing Collective.

Together, they’ll share practical, everyday strategies to help parents and carers make the most of their family budget, including:

🟣 Tips for saving money on groceries
🟣 Information on financial support payments that families may be eligible for
🟣 Simple ways to stretch household budgets further

Josh will also guide attendees through understanding their household energy use and offer practical ways to reduce electricity costs.

Middle Swan families – Kiind is coming to you!

For the first time, Kiind will be providing free weekly in-person navigation support at the Swan Child and Parent Centre in Stratton throughout Term 3.

If you're a parent, carer or kin raising a child with disability, autism and/or developmental delay, our team is bringing support closer to home.

Whether you have questions about the NDIS, accessing a diagnosis, school supports, financial assistance, or aren't sure where to start, we're here to support you every step of the way.

We'll be in Middle Swan weekly on Tuesdays:

Time: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Location: Swan Child and Parent Centre, 574 Cockman Cross, Stratton

Only a few weeks left to express your interest!

Parents, carers and kin are invited to have their say in shaping how the Thriving Kids program is designed and delivered in WA.

Kiind is working with the Department of Communities to host a series of consultation sessions to better understand the experiences, needs, and priorities of WA families.

All participants who attend an online or in-person session will be eligible for paid participation to the value of $100.

We encourage expressions of interest from:

🟣 Parents, carers and kin of children aged 0-8 years
🟣 Parents, carers and kin whose child recently engaged with early intervention services
🟣 Families living in regional and remote areas
🟣 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families
🟣 People from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds

Families are invited to attend one session, with multiple online options and flexible times available during the school term.

There's also an option to participate in-person in Kalgoorlie!

We are currently inviting expressions of interest. Please complete the form and indicate your preferred session times. If selected, we will be in touch to confirm your place.

Our Peer Navigators all have lived experience caring for a child with disability and understand the challenges families can face. They can provide practical guidance and help you navigate the world of disability with confidence.
