Le Brocq Fastest in Townsville Friday Practice!

Truck Assist Racing’s Jack Le Brocq has topped Friday practice on his birthday at the NTI Townsville 500.

Le Brocq was more than two-tenths of a second clear of the field in the afternoon session with a 1:13.432s at the chequered flag.

Cameron Hill was also on for a strong lap, however, ‘made a meal’ of the final sector, with plenty more time on the table at that part of the track.

Car #35 ended the day in 17th, only six-tenths off Le Brocq’s time.

Earlier in the day, the Matt Stone Racing team was joined by the NTI family and a number of other team partners to celebrate Le Brocq’s birthday in the garage.

Saturday’s action features qualifying, followed by a Top 10 Shootout and Race 16 of the championship, which will be 250km in distance.

"It’s great to start the NTI Townsville 500 weekend strong with the top spot in practice. The guys are doing an awesome job and I’m getting more and more comfortable in the car. We’ll just keep doing what we’re doing and hopefully convert that into a good result tomorrow. It’s also great to have my Race Engineer, Jack Bellotti, back this weekend. We gel really well together, we get along well, and he understands how I work, and likewise for me with how he works.”
