Glory Box Cakes

Our Story

A friend’s request for a chocolate wedding cake in 1994, provided the seed that grew into The Glory Box Cakes. Since 1998, The Glory Box Cakes has become synonymous with market-leading, bespoke wedding cakes, and supplying high quality cakes to cafes and restaurants across Perth.

In 2018, seeking new challenges, highly trained and experienced pastry chef, Peter Smedley began experimenting with sourdough bread. The bread was a hit with customers, friends and family, who lamented that there were few ‘local’ bakeries anymore. With this in mind The Glory Box Cakes | Bakery | Patisserie opened in March 2019. Peter and Marlene Smedley are passionate about providing hand formed sourdough breads, small batch cakes, Portuguese custard tarts, desserts and sweet treats - made in house, and utilising locally sourced and seasonal produce whenever possible, and served in a small, friendly, local bakery setting.
