It’s Monday Munchies! πŸ₯Ÿ

This week we’re bringing you Momo Dumplings! This delicious recipe was lovingly shared by the fabulous Nidup and recently prepared with love and care for lunch at Gowrie Early Learning Kewdale.

Warm, comforting, and full of flavour, these tasty dumplings quickly became a lunchtime favourite and are perfect for sharing with the whole family.

Bhutanese Momo Dumplings
⭐ Ingredients
For the Dough
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup water (plus 1–2 tbsp as needed)
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil (optional, for a softer dough)

For the Filling
- 250g ground meat (chicken, beef) or shredded cabbage and carrots for a vegetarian option
- 1 cup green cabbage, finely minced
- 2 medium red or white onions, finely diced
- 1 tsp garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp cooking oil or melted butter
- Salt to taste

⭐ Instructions
Prepare the Dough
1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour and salt.
2. Gradually pour in the water and mix until a shaggy dough forms.
3. Turn onto a clean surface and knead for 5–8 minutes until smooth and soft.
4. Cover and rest for 10–15 minutes while preparing the filling.

Make the Filling
1. In a large bowl, combine the meat (or vegetables), cabbage, onion, garlic, and oil.
2. Add salt and mix well.
3. Use your hands to gently combine until evenly distributed and the mixture becomes cohesive and juicy.

Assemble the Momos
5. Divide the rested dough into small walnut-sized pieces.
6. Roll each piece into a thin circle.
7. Place a spoonful of filling in the centre and fold into your favourite dumpling shape.
8. Steam until cooked through and serve warm.

Thank you Nidup, for bringing such a delicious dish to our Monday Munchies series! 😍

Recently, the little learners of the Borang Learning Studio enjoyed a wonderful hands-on STEM learning experience using our fabulous new light table and transparent coloured blocks. 🌈

The children carefully placed, stacked and overlapped blocks, discovering how colours changed when the light shone through and how new colours could be created by combining different pieces.

Through this hands-on exploration, the children developed problem-solving skills, creativity, spatial awareness and an early understanding of colour mixing. They were excited to investigate the effects of light and transparency while sharing their discoveries and creations with one another.

Wow Borang children, what a fantastic way to explore, discover and learn about colour! 🀩
