Atlantis Education Centre Ocean Keys

As part of our ongoing journey to deepen our understanding and appreciation of Noongar culture, we borrowed the Noongar Museum in a Box from the Wanneroo Regional Museum.

Developed in close consultation with local Aboriginal educators, this valuable resource provides children with opportunities to explore contemporary Aboriginal culture and history, with a particular focus on the local Noongar people. Through hands-on, tactile, and multi-sensory experiences, children are encouraged to engage with cultural artefacts, stories, and learning materials in meaningful ways.

The resource supports educators to respectfully embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives throughout the curriculum and daily program. As we explore the materials together, children will develop a stronger sense of connection to Country, culture, and community while building their understanding of the rich history and ongoing contributions of First Nations peoples.

Through these experiences, we aim to foster curiosity, respect, inclusion, and a deeper appreciation for the cultural heritage of the land on which we learn and play.
