I hope you’ve all been keeping well!

I’m writing to share my concern about the City of Busselton’s proposed changes to dog access areas, particularly along the Geographe Bay foreshore — Morgan Street, Groyne Road, and surrounding areas.
I’m deeply disappointed by the plan to prohibit dogs from these much-loved local beaches. These areas are part of our daily lives — not just for recreation, but for community, connection, and well-being.

What’s especially frustrating is that these changes appear to align with the development of a new resort. It feels like, once again, priority is being given to tourists over the people who live here year-round. Many of us chose to live in this area because of the accessibility for our pets and the relaxed coastal lifestyle.

If you feel the same, I urge you to fill out the City’s public survey and express your opposition to these restrictions. The more voices heard, the better chance we have of preserving fair access for all.
