To all of Zebras Family, Friends and Clientele,

After lots of deliberation, I’ve made the decision that it is now time to shut the doors on Zebras African Steakhouse/Grill after over 31 years of trading. It wasn’t an easy decision to make however it is time for a break.

Zebras started in 1987 and over this time I have met many wonderful people who have become family to me.

Firstly, thank you to all the past and present staff members. We have shared many great laughs and have so many memories. To all you amazing clientele, thank you for all your support over the years especially those of you who I have got so close to. You have all become a part of my family and made me part of your family too.

These times will forever be cherished. Looking forward to seeing you all on the next journey.

It's Wednesday people - welcome to Woza Wednesday night!!! A glass of house wine, a midi of our house beer or a soft drink goes together with the meal - scrumptious sirloin, steak fries and salad served with a sauce of your choice - $25. Wanna ramp it up?? How about adding a side of boerewors or prawns for $9?

Part 3 of .......... The Unusual Suspects!!!

At Zebras we have some quirky and traditional dishes and thought we might need to explain them a little bit more.

Today we have BOEREWORS which is our traditional Southern African sausage. Roughly pronounced 'bore-a-vors' and directly translated means farmers sausage. Generally made with with beef and pork and then a range of different spices. Family secret recipes can be carefully guarded!!!

As a starter it is served with sadza (not the real thing but rather polenta that is deep fried and rather yummy) and chakalaka sauce (bean and vegetable sauce with a bit of a bite).

For mains, it can be added as an addition to any meal such as a juicy steak!

The next edition of .......... THE UNUSUAL SUSPECTS!!!

At Zebras we have some quirky and traditional dishes and thought we might need to explain them a little bit more. Today we have our Game Tasting Plate - boerewors (traditional South African sausage) served with sadza (not the real thing but rather polenta and rather yummy) and chakalaka sauce (bean and vegetable sauce with a bit of a bite). We also have a sosatie (skewer) of crocodile and ostrich!! It is lovely as a starter to share or a mains for 1. Bring out your wild side - see ya later alligator, in a while crocodile!!!

Introducing............... THE UNUSUAL SUSPECTS!!!

At Zebras we have some quirky and traditional dishes and thought we might need to explain them a little bit more. Tonight we are starting off with - Babotie! Babotie (Bab-boo-tea) is traditionally a Cape Malay curry that is a minced beef curry with some sweetness. We top it with an egg souffle and it is served with rice in small potjie pots.
