Brett Renton, Superintendent HSECT at Lake MacLeod and our Project Director, John Blower, attended the Outback Air Race celebratory dinner where they presented the “leg trophy” to the winning team “Nanny and Billy” (Greg and Rosemary) for the final leg of the air race from Exmouth to Carnarvon, sponsored by Leichhardt. A special mention to the Outback Air Race team for all their hard work in organising such a fantastic event. Your incredible support for the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia as a vital community service has raised an incredible $1million over this 15-day aviation extravaganza!

Our Story
The Outback Air Race is a GPS-based navigation time trial throughout the remote Australian outback. In 2018 we hosted almost 100 competitors in 38 aircraft, where pilots were required to nominate an elapsed time between two visual waypoints, receiving points for both time and location accuracy.
The Outback Air Race exists to raise funds for the Royal Flying Doctor Service. Since 1996 competitors and spectators have raised over $2.6 million, with funds from each race going towards outfitting RFDS aircraft with essential medical equipment, vital for treating sick and injured patients.
The Outback Air Race is held every three years with the next event likely to be held in August and/or September 2021.
