Have you noticed an increase in the numbers of Black Swans (Cygnus atratus) flying in to the lakes and rivers of the south west in readiness for breeding season?
You might also see Purple Swamphens, Pacific Black Ducks, Wood Ducks and Black-winged Stilts (pictured at Lake Claremont) appearing in greater numbers on the freshwater lakes.

Whilst you're out enjoying the fungi that are flourishing under these wet conditions, why not use a handy field guide to identify them? Just $10 (plus $2 postage within Australia) https://www.wanaturalists.org.au/product/mushrooms-and-other-fungi-of-south-west-western-australia/
