I made it to the semi-finals! Super grateful, and thanks for the recognition πŸ₯° 7NEWS Young Achiever Awards WA

A quiet start this morning, which I thought was fair enough after a busy Mother’s Day weekend with two busking sessions already done.

But no… Subi slowly woke up

People started coming through in the middle of the session, and guess what? Another surprise $50 note from a kind gentleman, who also took a moment to share some very encouraging words. Incredible!

We also had more than five groups of people cheering, applauding, and shouting encouragement from their cars as they passed by, which was so lovely. (Though please, cheer for me with your eyes mostly on the road… my fundraising mission does not include creating extra work for the traffic department πŸ˜‚)

Even some of my classmates popped by and dropped in a few coins, which made the morning extra warm

Thank you to everyone who stopped, waved, cheered, donated, or simply shared a smile. See you at the next session ❀️

What a busy but blessed Mother’s Day! πŸ’πŸ’œand big thank you to the person who made a payment via PayID and typed β€œSubi Blooms Nice Music” in payment description πŸ₯°πŸŒΊπŸŒ»

Started bright and early with the Mother’s Day Classic walk alongside my classmates, supporting Breast&Ovarian cancer research, before heading straight back to Subi Blooms to play viola at the Community Hub.

One of the highlights of the day was seeing so many little kids stopping by throughout my performance, gathering around with such curious looks on their little faces πŸ₯Ήβœ¨ Who knows… maybe a few future musicians were inspired today?

A huge thank you to Subiaco Youth Voice for inviting me back for the second year to perform at this beautiful signature community festival. And thank you to the lovely flower fairy for filling the space with bubbles and being so generous with your kind encouragement and compliments 🌸🫧

Feel incredibly fortunate to live in such an amazing community β€” one that is so supportive, encouraging, and full of warmth. Days like this remind me how lucky I am. πŸ’œ

What a massive crowd at the See Subiaco Subi Blooms Festival today! I completely lost count of how many kind people dropped their generous support into my viola case. Thank you so much! πŸ’œ

The crowd was so packed that you could only catch glimpses of Route 27 buses and even fire engines squeezing past through tiny gaps in the sea of people

Also, a big thank you to florist for setting me up in such a special spot and even sharing my performance on her Instagram. The floral display was absolutely stunning: so creative, with the reflection mirror underneath the flowers beautifully capturing this year’s Aurora theme. Such a clever idea!

One of the happiest surprises of the day? Two of the greatest violinists from WASO β€” friends of Helen and Daniel (two of the greatest viola players in WASO!) β€” came to see me, complete with their adorable dogs 🐢 And even a strong chess player from Southern Suburbs Chess Club came by to say hi with his family, which is honestly a rare event

Usually, the lovely kids from DJCC CHESS CLUB are my most reliable chess visitors. A few other chess people I know have occasionally passed by in the past without stopping to say hi, but I choose to believe that’s just introvert energy rather than anything personal ~ joking

And yes, I’ll be back again tomorrow from lunchtime at the Community Hub, after my Mother’s Day charity walk fundraising event.

If you’re around, come say hi!

Along with my regular busking this Saturday, I will also be busking on Sunday after lunchtime at the Subi Blooms community hub until 2:00 pm. Come say hi, and thanks to SVY for booking the session for me!

Check out some of Subi's newest florists at this year’s Subi Blooms x Gather festival! 🌸

Bloom Store Subi, located on Rokeby Road, will bring their installation β€˜Rainbow Lane’ to Walmsley Lane as part of the 2026 floral trail, which takes over Subiaco this Mother’s Day weekend.

With 15 large-scale floral installations, a new blooms-by-night experience and plenty happening across the town centre, Subi Blooms x Gather is shaping up to be another spectacular weekend in Subi.

Subi Blooms x Gather is presented by See Subiaco, a City of Subiaco initiative.

Guess how many people will drop a donation into my viola case within 30 seconds?

Check out the video πŸ‘‡ today’s lucky piece is MΓ©ditation from ThaΓ―s by Jules Massenet.

Within that short window, more than three people stopped to drop something in.

A dog seemed to really enjoy the melody, peeking out from the car window.

Route 27 continues to be very reliable for passing traffic.

A little boy played around my busking spot and came back three separate times to drop coins β€” very adorable.

And, fire engine finally! Showed up and stayed for quite a while, across at least three different pieces. Very exciting.

Saving the best for last: I’ve now officially reached my entire busking total from last year, and it’s only the beginning of May!

Grateful to be part of such a supportive and generous community.

Thank you to everyone who stops by β€” for the smiles, claps, and chats. And thank you to City of Subiaco for approving my busking application and providing the best spot in the world❀️
