🚧 Reviving Critical Infrastructure Without Tearing Buildings Apart – Johnson Court Fremantle Project

Some plumbing projects are straightforward. Others require innovation, planning, and precision — especially when you’re working inside an occupied high-rise building.

Perth Environmental Plumbing is proud to be delivering the internal sewer stack relining project at Johnson Court, 23 Adelaide Street, Fremantle — a landmark residential building built in the late 60's opened in July 1970.

🏢 10 storeys high
🏢 100+ apartments
🔧 Critical ageing drainage infrastructure located within the core of the building with original cast iron sewer stacks and VC in-ground pipework reaching the end of their service life, traditional pipe replacement simply wasn’t viable.

The stacks run through the middle of the building — meaning full replacement would require major structural demolition and significant disruption to residents.

Instead, we’ve implemented advanced trenchless pipe relining technology, restoring the existing infrastructure internally while keeping the building operational.

📅 9 additional stacks scheduled throughout 2026

This project brings unique challenges:
• Working at heights across a 10-storey structure
• Managing Perth’s changing weather — wind, rain and heat
• Coordinating access across 100+ apartments
• Collaboration with owners, tenants, Department of Housing, strata management and ESM teams
• Installing new access points where required while utilising existing inspection access

These complex, live-environment projects require more than technical skill — they demand communication, planning, safety leadership, and respect for the people who live and work in the building every day.
