Satanic Australia is a non-theistic Satanic organisation. That means that we do not worship or believe in a literal deity, but rather that we view Satan as a powerful metaphor for rebellion against arbitrary authority, as well as a champion of enlightenment, advocating for critical thought and reason, even when in opposition to popular opinion.
We are not officially affiliated with any other Satanic group or organisation; however, we welcome non-theistic Satanists of all paths who agree with our core beliefs.
We have local groups in Adelaide, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. Each local group has a Facebook group for organising local meetups and events. We also have a national Facebook group for more general discussion around Satanism, as well as national events and news.
Our Mission
Satanic Australia wants to bring Satanic change to our local communities. We plan to do this by encouraging benevolence amongst our members towards the greater community through initiatives like Blood for Satan. We also want to encourage political awareness and to combat religious authority in politics through statements such as our submission concerning the proposed religious freedoms bill. We also strive to support causes that would bring greater access to reproductive health and euthanasia, as well as causes that would restrict the influence of religious institutions over public schools and other public spaces.
Our Beliefs
Rebellion
We revere Satan as a metaphorical figure who symbolises rebellion against tyrannical or arbitrary authority; personal sovereignty; and rational scepticism.
Enlightenment
We believe in self-enlightenment, and we encourage scepticism and a drive to remain informed and educated.
Autonomy
We believe in bodily autonomy; that everyone should have ultimate control over their own body.
Compassion
We believe that we must be compassionate and use our strength to aid those around us whenever it is sensible to do so.
Critical Thought
We reject tradition for tradition’s sake, and we encourage critical thinking surrounding all of our actions and beliefs.
Reason
We reject supernaturalism and embrace reason. We encourage an understanding and acceptance of modern science and its discoveries.
