From next Friday, returning Australians arriving into WA will be required to pay for their own time in hotel quarantine. What do you think of the news? 🤔💬

WA Premier Mark McGowan said over a 10-day period in June, WA received 2,700 interstate arrivals, while in the past 10 days that had risen to 4,995 people.

"The increasing number of international arrivals has put a significant strain on our resources to manage hotel quarantine to the highest of standards," he said.

"Today, at National Cabinet, I am pleased a final agreement was reached on a cap on arrivals.

"It is now confirmed that Western Australia will receive a maximum of 525 passengers per week.

"This equates to 75 international arrivals a day - specifically Australians returning from overseas."

He said if those numbers did not drop, he would ensure WA's hard state border was even more tightly enforced.
