Family adventures are even sweeter in winter! 🦘💚
Thanks to @aamiraliy for sharing her family day out at Caversham Wildlife Park.
Winter is one of the best times to visit Caversham Wildlife Park, with quieter crowds giving you more time to enjoy the animal encounters, chat with the friendly keepers, and hand-feed the kangaroos with the free roo food.
Once you've met the koalas, wombats and kangaroos, why not make a full day of it? There are plenty more attractions to discover throughout Whiteman Park, including heritage train and tram rides, fascinating museums, scenic bushwalks, and playgrounds.

And for the dog-owners out there?
Pop the date in your diaries for this family-friendly, pooch-tactic event (your doggos lack the thumbs required to do it, sadly! 😉).

🍃 Winter has a way of bringing Horse Swamp to life.
As the winter rains fill the wetland, the maali / black swans return, gliding across the water as they prepare for breeding season. Keep your eyes peeled on your walks around the wetland and you may also spot welcome swallows, purple swamphens and plenty of other returning birdlife. 🦢✨
Fun fact: wondering how Horse Swamp got its name? Years ago, horses that wandered off in the Swan Valley region were often found grazing in the lush pastures surrounding this wetland — and the name stuck.
The Werillyiup Trail skirts the edge of Horse Swamp, offering beautiful panoramic views and a front-row seat to the seasonal birdlife.
