Our Story

Mayama is Australia’s premier supplier of project and souvenir parts.

Mayama Gems opened in July 1982 with the aim to service the hobby and craft market. Be it those who just want it for the pleasure, earning a supplementary income or a livelihood. Our business intentions have not changed over the almost 37 years, even though some hobbies have come and gone and others have grown. Woodturning is one of those hobbies that have grown.

Woodturning is a craft that can take a while to learn and can be an ever evolving learning and growing experience. The pride and pleasure you can get from making a simple pen for example, even if you make it as a gift for someone else.
