We were excited to attend the Belmont Jobs Expo 2026 and engage with job seekers, students and the local community.
With around 800 attendees, including many temporary visa workers, our team shared meaningful conversations and resources about their migration related workplace rights.

From Gayndah to the Gold Coast, Western Australia to Wagga Wagga – Australian Border Force officers are on the ground across every corner of Australia targeting employers who are exploiting migrant workers on training visas.
The four-month operation will see;
🏢 200+ workplaces to be visited
📍 All states & territories covered
🛣️ Both regional and metro locations targeted
Just one month into the operation we are already seeing results; over 100 inspections already completed, and evidence of employers lacking genuine training plans and migrant worker trainees being placed in roles unrelated to their approved training.
All workers in Australia are entitled to fair treatment, regardless of visa status. Sponsors who fail to meet their obligations can expect strong compliance and enforcement action which may result in significant penalties, including fines and imprisonment.

Full house. Real solidarity. Powerful voices.
The Multicultural Workers Collective in collaboration with WA Young Labor came together for another meaningful evening of learning, connection, and action. Migrant workers, union affiliates, and young voices packed the room and the energy was incredible.
Our own Rikki Hendon, Secretary of UnionsWA, led an outstanding information session on migrant workers rights, joined by TWU Secretary Tim Dawson and our union officials on the panel from United Workers Union AMWU Australian Manufacturing Workers' Union WA AWU - Australian Workers' Union Transport Workers Union WA Branch - TWU WA who shared their experience working alongside migrant workers. Real knowledge, real voices, real power.
When migrant workers are protected, workplaces are safer and fairer for everyone.

No one should be scared of losing their visa for speaking up about unfair treatment at work.
The new Workplace Justice Visa lets migrant workers stay in Australia while taking legal action against an employer.

We are proud to work with business communities to raise awareness of migration related employer obligations.
We look forward to growing this partnership and to everything we can achieve together.

Workplace exploitation is more common than many people realise and it often goes unreported because workers are not sure what to do or are afraid of what might happen to their visa.
You have the right to be safe at work, to be paid correctly, and to speak up without fear. We put together this guide so you know what to look for, what to record, and how to report it if something feels wrong.
Swipe through and share it with someone who needs to see it.
If you need confidential support, we are here.
