👁️ Observation is everything.

Observation is way more important than people think when creating artwork. It’s about how you see the world, and the artwork itself is just the reflection of that vision.

To train our students’ eyes, we tackled a classic still-life sketch of a pair of sneakers. I challenged them to try their absolute best to capture every single detail they could see.

Our Year 7 student dedicated 2 full classes to finishing the piece, and I am incredibly impressed with her final work! Our Year 4 students are still working hard on theirs, it’s a huge challenge for them, but they are rising to it. Stay tuned to see their work next week!

🌕 One demonstration, so many unique perspectives! 💫
We spent 3 dedicated lessons finishing these stunning art pieces. It was definitely a big challenge for my students, but they absolutely nailed it!
What I love most is that even though this project involved following my own drawing, every single student brought their own view to the canvas. That’s why every piece is completely different and wonderfully unique!

In art, “white space” is the canvas before the magic happens, it’s a place of endless possibility, creativity, and imagination. That is exactly what I want our studio to be for every single student who walks through the door.

✨ Studio Upgrade! 🖥️ We’ve updated the studio with a brand-new large monitor screen! Now, our students can see every brushstroke and technique more clearly than ever as I demonstrate.

💐 With Mother’s Day this Sunday, our students spent their classes creating special portraits of their mums. And so did I. It was so lovely to see the care and detail they put into every drawing.

✨ Term 2 is officially in motion! 🎬
We kicked off the new term with an Advanced Animation lesson, and the results are incredible! Our students learned the technical side of “the spin,” bringing their own cartoon characters to life.
