It’s National NAIDOC Week!
Spanning from Sunday 5th July – Sunday 12th July, NAIDOC Week is a time to celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, commemorate and reflect on their history, honour the achievements of their people, and share this with the rest of the nation. Historically, NAIDOC has roots in the 1938 Day of Mourning, becoming a week-long event held in the first week of July from 1975-onwards.
Each year, the National organising committee is responsible for choosing a unique theme that highlights contemporary First Nations histories, achievements, and voices.
The 2026 theme, “50 years of Deadly” highlights a massive milestone across Australia, honouring five decades of Blak excellence, resilience, cultural pride and the powerful legacy of community led change! The theme serves as a powerful tribute to the Elders, activists and communities who built the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander civil rights and self-determination movement, reminding the nation that “culture leads and community comes first.”
Take a look at the official poster for National NAIDOC Week 2026, ‘Paralpi’ by Zaachariaha Fielding, a proud Yankuntjatjara member from the APY Lands in South Australia.
“Paralpi is about movement — movement through generations, through memory, through song and story. It speaks to the strength our people carry and the beauty of culture continuing to evolve while staying deeply connected to who we are.” - (Zaachariaha Fielding, 2026)
You can collect a FREE poster of ‘Paralpi’ at your local KMART (while stocks last). What a deadly way to show your support for the upcoming NAIDOC Week celebrations!

More than half of Victorians are worried about the impact AI will have on job opportunities.
With recent mass layoffs in sectors prioritising the implementation of artificial intelligence – workers need to know they have a job to make a living and get ahead.
TAFE is the answer. It’s a direct pathway into secure, in-demand work that strengthens local businesses, the essential services we all rely on, and Victoria’s economy.
And eight in ten, in-demand jobs that are AI-proof can be pursued through a TAFE qualification.
