🎉 Queensland Pickleball Championships – Day 4 Recap 🎉

Day 4 belonged to our Mixed Doubles players, and what a day it was! 💙🏓

An incredible 28 Focus members took to the courts, representing our club with determination, sportsmanship and plenty of laughter along the way.

🥉 60+ Mixed Doubles 3.5–3.99

Adrian & Jill, two of our Focus legends, once again had us all on the edge of our seats in an epic bronze medal match. While the medal just slipped away, their effort, grit and teamwork were outstanding. What a performance!

👏 60+ Mixed Doubles 4.0–4.49

Leigh & Craig played their hearts out in a strong and highly competitive division. They narrowly missed out on the bronze medal, but this pairing is only getting stronger. Watch this space!

🥉 19+ Mixed Doubles 3.49 & Below

Kirsten & Gavin teamed up for Gavin’s very first mixed doubles tournament, and what a great debut it was. They fought hard all day and were only just denied a place in the semi-finals.

Meanwhile, Stacka & Matty were on fire throughout the pool rounds, winning every match to book their place in the semis. Although the semi-final didn’t quite go their way, they bounced back to claim the bronze medal. A fantastic effort… and we’re convinced that elusive gold for Matty is only a matter of time! 😉

🥇🥈 50+ Mixed Doubles 3.49 & Below

This was a huge division for Focus, with eight of our members competing.

The highlight saw Kim & John face Lorrie & Eric in an all-Focus showdown for bronze. It couldn’t have been much closer, with Lorrie & Eric taking the match 12–10, 12–10 in two thrilling games. Congratulations to Lorrie & Eric on the bronze.

A big shoutout as well to Karen & Steven and Leanne & Dave, who had a fantastic tournament filled with great pickleball, plenty of laughs and the kind of friendly banter that makes Focus tournaments so much fun.

🥈🥉 35+ Mixed Doubles 3.5–3.99

Another division packed with Focus players, with eight members competing.

Jonah & Hannah battled their way to a well-deserved silver medal, including a hard-fought semi-final against fellow Focus pair Nathan & Wendy.

Not to be outdone, Nathan & Wendy dug deep to claim the bronze medal after another nail-biting three-game battle, once again showing the resilience and determination that Focus players are known for.

🥈 35+ Mixed Doubles 4.5+

Jon & Grace took on a stacked field and produced a fantastic tournament, bringing home the silver medal. An outstanding achievement in a very tough division!

What a day it was for our Focus family. There were medals, close matches, plenty of cheering, a few nervous moments and, as always, an incredible amount of support for one another.

A massive thank you to everyone who came along to support. Whether you were cheering from the sidelines, celebrating the big points, laughing with us (or occasionally at us! 😅), joining in the banter or simply being there, you are what makes Focus Pickleball & Tennis so special.

Our club is about so much more than medals—it’s about community, friendship and supporting each other every step of the way. 💙🏓
