đź’š WORLD DINOSAUR DAY đź’š
The kindergarten children celebrated World Dinosaur Day by exploring the fascinating world of dinosaurs through a range of exciting, hands-on learning experiences.
The children shared their knowledge about different dinosaurs, discussed what dinosaurs may have looked like, and explored where they lived. One of the highlights of the day was creating our very own volcano, where the children observed an exciting volcanic eruption and discussed how volcanoes may have existed during the time of the dinosaurs. This experience encouraged curiosity, scientific thinking, prediction, and problem-solving skills.
Through creative arts, sensory exploration, dramatic play, and group discussions, the children were able to express their ideas, ask questions, and extend their understanding of prehistoric life.
These learning experiences align with the Early Years Learning Framework and the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline by supporting:
Outcome 4: Children are confident and involved learners – as children investigated, explored, predicted, and experimented through hands-on experiences.
Outcome 5: Children are effective communicators – as children shared their ideas, engaged in discussions, and developed new vocabulary related to dinosaurs and volcanoes.
Outcome 2: Children are connected with and contribute to their world – as children explored the natural world and developed an understanding of environments from the past.
It was wonderful to see the children's excitement, imagination, and enthusiasm as they immersed themselves in all thing's dinosaur.
