We are excited to share that the Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee (PBAC) has announced a positive recommendation for Alyftrek (for people with a responsive CFTR mutation aged six years or older) following the September PBAC Intracycle meeting.

The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) process is still underway. Following the TGA decision, Alyftrek would then head to the Federal Government for review and decision regarding when it will be added to the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS).

Alyftrek, a next generation, triple combination CFTR modulator, can potentially help 95% of Australians aged 6 years and older. Importantly, Alyftrek improves convenience and provides a vital alternative treatment option for people who have not tolerated or have experienced limited benefits from other modulators. For people who need urgent access to Alyftrek, we encourage you to speak with your CF team regarding potential compassionate access.

CF Together are advocating for comprehensive access for all who could benefit and urge all stakeholders to expedite the next steps as quickly as possible, with access in the first few months of 2026.
