On April 17, 2026, a double homicide in Arcadia, Florida, left the community in shock. Tanika Summers, 32, and Barbara Bates were found shot in an apartment.

Tanika, a devoted mother and salon worker, was about to start a new chapter in life with her daughter, Eriauna. The suspect, Eric Devon Robinson, was arrested, with the shooting believed to stem from a domestic dispute.

A GoFundMe campaign has raised over $5,000 for Tanika’s daughter. The community continues to mourn, seeking justice for the lives lost.

On May 15, 2021, 4-year-old Cash Gernon’s life was brutally taken when he was kidnapped from his bed by 18-year-old Darriynn Brown. What started as a normal night for Cash and his twin brother turned into a nightmare, with Cash’s lifeless body found hours later, stabbed and left in the street.

The case has shaken the community, with many questioning if earlier warnings could have prevented the tragedy. Neighbors reported seeing Brown loitering and attempting to break into cars before the abduction, raising concerns about missed intervention.

For Cash’s family, the pain of losing a child so young is unimaginable. The grief felt by his twin brother and family is deep, as they now face a life without Cash.
