Founder of the GAP and the Face of the Sandown Vet Clinic as a vet nurse since 1994, we welcome Mel Tochner who joins us for the “Big freeze at the Ville” in 2026.

In 2025 she was honoured with the Marg Thomas Award, which recognizes exceptional women for their dedication, leadership, and contribution to the greyhound racing industry.

Sandown Parade of Champions was another initiative of Mels which we now see on Melbourne Cup night.
