🌿 NAIDOC Week 2026 🌿

This week, we proudly celebrate NAIDOC Week, a time for all Australians to come together to recognise and celebrate the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples — the world’s oldest continuing cultures.

At Swan View Primary School, we are especially proud that 29% of our students identify as Aboriginal, and we honour the strength, knowledge, and culture they bring to our community every day. ❤️💛🖤

Why NAIDOC Week matters
NAIDOC Week provides an important opportunity to:
✨ Learn about First Nations histories and cultures
✨ Celebrate the achievements and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
✨ Reflect on our shared history and move forward together with respect and reconciliation

It is a time for listening, learning, and strengthening connections within our school and the wider community. We will be celebrating on the 31st July at 9am with an address by local elder Di Ryder and a performance by Binar. All family and community are welcome!

There is something truly special about seeing our Year 1–6 students playing together each day (this is an exciting step for our Year 1's as they have started playing in the "big school"!). 💙

Our younger students happily join in with the older students, creating a playground filled with laughter, friendship and inclusion. It has been wonderful to see such a harmonious environment where everyone feels welcome and valued.

By looking out for one another, including others and showing compassion, our students are living our school values of Kindness and Respect every day—just like our wonderful mascot, Bobby the Bobtail! 🦎

We are so proud of the positive culture our students are creating together and the way they make our school a caring place to learn, play and grow.
