Hawkesbury River Freeway Bridge - it was completed in 1973 (M1 Freeway). 𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰... The motorway was not always free - with tolls applying north of the Hawkesbury from 1965 until 1990. Compared to the cost of today’s toll roads, the original fees seem cheap: ■ Motorcycles and Motor Scooters 10c ■ Cars, Utilities and Station Sedans 20c ■ Light Vans, Cars with caravans, Cars with boat trailers, Buses and other vehicles under 2 tons tare weight 40c ■ Vehicles with tare weights from 2 tons to 4 tons 60c ■ Vehicles with tare weights over 4 tones $1.

I think this is the closest thing you’ll get in Sydney to the Horseshoe Bend river in Arizona, America.
