A typical specification from 1905 for the construction of a road which in this case comprised a mere 8 sentences. 120 years on and our specification for the Proposed Slow Sand Track at Albury Racecourse has expanded to 21 pages.

While surveyors are well aware of the limitations of DCDB (Digital Cadastral Database) boundaries, these risks are often not obvious to other professions and the general public.

For any legal boundary identification, a Registered Surveyor should be engaged.

Here’s an example from Botany, where the boundary is out by around 4 metres, proving that even in urban areas, they often aren’t as accurate as some may think.

The lesson here is clear: relying on DCDB boundaries or Six Maps to identify legal property boundaries can lead to serious issues down the track.
