A Hand Stitched Life

I may have only finished this this afternoon, so I’m a fraction late, or very early for next year, both work I guess.

I may have been a little ambitious with my first embroidery project, but go big or go home was my attitude with this one. I saw this most adorable by .machineembroiderydesigns and knew I had to make it. That was solidified when I found the lining fabric from (swipe for the last photo).

I used fat quarters from for all the fabric in this one, and I’m pretty happy with how it turned out for a first attempt. The pattern instructions were fairly easy to follow, especially for a beginner. Though I think I’ll try something a little less complex next time around.

I added several labels from good measure, one can never have too many in a project.

I hope the recipient likes it, though given it’s more her size, I think she will.

I’ve been on a roll sewing kids clothes lately (and ticking off some makes at the same time!). This one has been a long time coming, my friends have been making this one for years and I’ve been avoiding it due to the amount of pieces in the skirt, however when had fat quarters on sale I decided it was time.

If you don’t know what pattern this is, it’s a by and it has epic twirlability. I used 7 different coloured fat quarters for the skirt, in the same pattern, plus a gingham for the bodice to create this wonderful rainbow dress.

I can’t wait to see this one get worn, and I hope she loves it as much as I do!

This was such a fun make, and they look so cheerful with their little party outfits. I may have made two and have another one that’s nearly finished. Somehow I don’t think I’ll stop at three.

This one is off to a very special little girl and I hope she loves it as much as I do.
