Our team at Traralgon Vet Centre come to work every day because they care deeply about animals and the people who love them.
Behind every consultation, emergency surgery, difficult conversation, and late finish is a team doing their very best in what can often be emotionally challenging circumstances.
Sadly, we are seeing an increase in verbal abuse and aggression directed towards our staff as well as many of our colleges near and far. While we understand that illness, emergencies, and unexpected costs can be incredibly stressful, abuse is never acceptable.
Everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and valued while providing care for your pets.
We are proud to support the message of Sophie's Legacy, which is shining a light on the impact of abuse towards veterinary staff and advocating for kindness, compassion, and respect across the profession.
Please remember:
💙 Be kind.
💙 Be patient.
💙 We are on the same team, with one shared goal—giving your pet the very best care possible.
Thank you to the many clients who continue to support, encourage, and show kindness to our team every day. Your understanding means more than you know.

🦅 Important Information About H5 Bird Flu (Avian Influenza) 🦅
Recent reports of H5 avian influenza have highlighted the importance of protecting our pets, wildlife, and community.
While the risk to most pets remains low, we recommend taking a few simple precautions:
✅ Keep cats indoors where possible
✅ Keep dogs on a lead and prevent them from approaching sick or dead birds
✅ Do not allow pets to scavenge wildlife carcasses
✅ Wash your hands after handling birds, poultry, or wildlife
Please contact us if your pet has had contact with sick or dead birds and develops signs such as:
• Lethargy
• Loss of appetite
• Coughing or breathing difficulties
• Neurological signs such as wobbliness, tremors, or seizures
If you find sick or dead wild birds, avoid handling them and report them to the appropriate authorities. Emergency Animal Disease Hotline 1800 675 888
PLEASE AVOID BRINGING THEM INTO THE PRACTICE
Our team continues to follow strict infection-control and biosecurity procedures to help keep our patients, clients, and staff safe.
If you have any concerns about your pet's health, please call the clinic for advice.
