Gold Coast Ruff Magic Cavaliers
Hi, I'm Cathy from Gold Coast Ruff Magic Cavaliers.
🐾 A Timely Reminder as We Prepare for More Puppies! 🐾
With Trinity due to have her beautiful puppies in the coming weeks, and several more litters planned later this year, I thought it was a good time to share a little reminder about how I operate here at Gold Coast Ruff Magic Cavaliers.
I believe in being completely open and honest with my puppy families and fellow breeders, so here it is...
Every puppy that leaves Gold Coast Ruff Magic Cavaliers has been thoroughly examined by my veterinarian at 6 weeks of age, receives a full health check, is vaccinated, microchipped and is considered healthy based on the findings at that time.
However, one thing that is important for people to understand is that no ethical breeder can guarantee what may or may not develop as a puppy grows.
For example, I cannot guarantee that:
🐶 A puppy won't develop a small hernia after leaving my care.
🐶 A tooth won't erupt incorrectly or be retained months later.
🐶 A puppy sold at 8 weeks will mature into breeding quality at 12 months.
🐶 A young stud dog will successfully sire puppies in the future.
❤️ A puppy will never develop a heart murmur later in life, even when both parents have passed specialist cardiology screening before breeding.
These are simply things that cannot be predicted when a puppy is only 8 weeks old. They are risks every breeder accepts when purchasing a young puppy for their breeding program.
What I can guarantee is:
✔️ The parents have undergone appropriate health testing before breeding.
✔️ I only breed from dogs that, to the best of my knowledge and my veterinarian's assessment, are healthy and suitable for breeding.
✔️ Every puppy receives a veterinary health examination before leaving my care.
✔️ If my vet identifies a concern before a puppy goes to its new home, I will always discuss this openly with the new owner.
This is exactly why I invest so heavily in health testing. My breeding dogs undergo DNA testing and appropriate health screening, including specialist cardiologist examinations where recommended.
These tests are designed to reduce the risk of inherited conditions and help breeders make informed breeding decisions—but they cannot guarantee what may or may not develop later in a puppy's life.
No ethical breeder can honestly promise a living, growing puppy will never develop a health issue.
Whether you're buying a much-loved family companion or a future breeding prospect, there are always things that simply cannot be predicted in a growing puppy.
Ethical breeders do everything they can to produce healthy puppies, but no one can guarantee how a puppy will develop over the months and years ahead.
This has always been how I operate. I health test my breeding dogs, work closely with my vet, and I'm always here to support my puppy families. I believe honesty, transparency and communication are the foundation of responsible breeding. ❤️
